Directions to St. John's

St. John's is a gray stucco building situated at the NE corner of Sixth and Ferry Streets in historic downtown Lafayette, which is located in the bowl of the Wabash River valley. Because Lafayette is (almost) the northern-most city of the diocese, all directions are from the south.

Coming from the south on US 231 northbound, upon reaching West Lafayette, becomes River Road. At the first major intersection, with State Street, turn right. Proceed east across the bridge to Lafayette. (In Lafayette this becomes South Street.) Proceed to Sixth Street and turn left. Proceed three blocks to the intersection with Ferry Street. St. John’s will be on the right corner across the intersection with Ferry Street. There is only on-street parking, and posted limits are strictly enforced.

Coming from the north or south on I 65: On I 65, use exit #172, which is state Road 26 (this is the "miracle mile" of motels and restaurants). Proceed west on SR 26, following it through the intersection with US 52, past Lafayette Home Hospital, past the five-points intersection with the fire station at the top of the bluff, and down into the bowl of the city. At Sixth Street turn right and proceed north to Ferry Street. St. John's will be on the right corner across the intersection with Ferry Street. There is only on-street parking, and posted limits are strictly enforced.

Coming from the south on us 52: Proceed north through the southern part of the greater Lafayette area until you intersect with state Road 26 (a major intersection). Turn left and follow SR 26 west according to the directions given above for those who came on I 65.

The parish and staff offices for St. John's are located in the original rectory, a two-story house immediately to the east of the church on Ferry Street. Access to the house is through the garden between the church and the rectory. The office phone for St. John's is 765-742-4079.

Parking

DO NOT park in the lot at the northwest corner of 6th and Ferry Streets. It is a tow zone.

Street side parking is available on each of the streets surrounding St. John’s. Because most businesses are not open on Sunday morning, there should also be available parking on Main Street and 6th Street south of Ferry.

Parking for those with mobility issues is available on the street near the church. You do not need a handicap sticker to use one of those spots (unless they are also marked as handicapped spots). If you are able to walk a few blocks, please consider parking in one of the more distance lots.

Parishioners may park at Duncan Hall located just east of the church on Ferry Street as long as there is not an event taking place there. You can also park at Dr. Yocum’s office and at Tricoci University, both of which are on Ferry Street just east of the church. Parking is also available at Wintek, which has a large parking lot on 6th Street north of the church (please note, the Wintek lot is not the TAF lot or the lot owned by First Christian Church).
